Applicant Privacy Notice

1. Who this notice applies to

This notice explains how information about job applicants is collected and used when you apply for a position at Acme through this site.

Acme Precision Industries LLC, 100 Anvil Way, Columbus, Ohio 43004, is the employer for the positions posted here and is responsible for hiring decisions.

Acme works with Spark Talent Acquisition as its recruiting partner. Spark operates this careers site, receives applications, and carries out recruiting and screening activity on Acme's behalf. When you apply here, your information is received and used by both Acme and Spark for the purposes described below.

This notice covers applicants. If you are hired, a separate employee privacy notice will apply.

2. What we collect

• Contact and identifying information: name, mailing address, email address, phone number.
• Professional background: resume or CV, work history, education, certifications and licenses, skills, references.
• Application responses: answers to screening questions, availability, position and location preferences, and compensation expectations where permitted by law.
• Work authorization: confirmation that you are legally able to work in the United States. We do not collect immigration documents at the application stage.
• Interview and assessment records: recruiter and interviewer notes, and the results of any skills assessment used for the role.
• Background and screening results: collected only after a conditional offer, only with your separate written authorization, and only where permitted by law.
• Voluntary demographic information: race or ethnicity, sex, veteran status, and disability status, if you choose to provide them.
• Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and pages viewed on this site.

Voluntary demographic information is handled differently. Providing it is optional and declining has no effect on your application. It is used only for aggregate equal employment opportunity recordkeeping and reporting. It is stored separately from your application and is not made available to the people evaluating you.

3. Where we get it

Most of it comes directly from you. We may also receive information from job boards and professional networking sites where you have posted a profile or applied, from people who refer you, from references you provide, from background screening and assessment vendors we engage, and from publicly available professional sources.

4. Why we use it

• To evaluate your application and your suitability for the position.
• To communicate with you, schedule interviews, and answer your questions.
• To verify the information you have given us, including references, credentials, and eligibility to work.
• To consider you for other open positions that may suit your background.
• To meet legal and recordkeeping obligations, including equal employment opportunity reporting and employment eligibility verification.
• To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
• To maintain the security and correct functioning of this site.

5. Automated tools

Every application submitted through this site is reviewed by a person. We do not use automated systems to reject applications or to make hiring decisions without human review.

6. Who we share it with

• Acme hiring managers, human resources staff, and interviewers involved in filling the position.
• Spark Talent Acquisition, as Acme's recruiting partner, including its recruiters and administrative staff.
• Service providers that host or support the systems used to manage recruiting, including our applicant tracking and customer relationship platform, our hosting and security providers, and email and scheduling tools. These providers may use the information only to provide services to us.
• Background screening and assessment vendors, where applicable and with your authorization.
• Government agencies, regulators, courts, or others where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
• A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.

7. How long we keep it

If you are not hired for the position you applied to, we keep your application and related records for 3 years from the date of your application to meet legal recordkeeping requirements and to respond to any inquiry or claim about the hiring process. After that period, records tied to the specific Acme position are removed. Your resume and contact information remain in Spark Talent Acquisition's recruiting database so we can consider you for future openings and let you know about other opportunities that fit your background. You can ask us to delete your information or to stop contacting you at any time (see Section 9).

If you are hired, your onboarding and employment records are held by Acme and governed by Acme's employee record retention practices.

8. How we protect it

Access to applicant information is limited to Acme and Spark personnel who need it to do their jobs. Information submitted through this site is encrypted in transit. The systems that store applicant records are access-controlled and monitored. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect this information appropriately and to keep our safeguards current.

9. Your choices

• Access and correction. You may ask for a copy of the information we hold about your application, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate.
• Deletion. You may ask us to delete your application. We may need to keep limited records where the law requires it.
• Withdrawal. You may withdraw your application at any time.
• Future openings. You may ask us to stop contacting you about other roles.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some rights depend on where you live, and we will apply the rights available to you under applicable law.

10. Applicants located outside the United States

We accept applications from candidates located outside the United States. If you apply from outside the United States, the information you submit is transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States by Acme Precision Industries LLC and Spark Talent Acquisition. Privacy laws in the United States may differ from those in your country. By submitting an application, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States as described in this notice. Where the law of your location gives you additional rights over your information — such as rights of access, correction, deletion, or objection — we will honor the rights that apply to you. Positions posted on this site are based in the United States, and any offer of employment is contingent on your legal authorization to work in the United States by the required start date; sponsorship availability, if any, is stated in the job posting.

11. Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, hold your session while you complete an application, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling them may affect your ability to submit an application.

12. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. When we do, we will change the date shown above. Material changes will be posted on this page.
